Accountability: Find Your Chazown

“So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.” Romans 14:12 (NIV)

“But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” Exodus 9:16 (NIV)

Do you know what your exact purpose is in life? Are you doing what God created you to do? He created each of us for a specific vision and plan. I believe that we are held accountable to that vision. I was not completely sure of what that might be for myself until I read Chazown by Craig Groeschel. Chazown is the Hebrew word for vision. The book helps guide you through your life experiences, spiritual gifts and talents to find the exact thing that God designed you for. God did not just create us to live a life of just going to school, work and church. He created each one of us with a purpose and a vision specific to each person. This is such an amazing concept to actually think about. God did not create me to just be, he created me with a vision in mind that is only for me. Not only after reading this book did I realize my chazown, but I am now accountable for it. I know what God’s vision for my life is and I must take steps to stay on that path. I also believe that this accountability goes beyond just myself. I must make sure that I do all that is in my ability to guide my children in a way that they will find their God given purpose. What better way to stay accountable to this than to live out my own chazown for my children to see? My chazown is reaching, challenging, encouraging and inspiring women through writing. What is yours?
