Worship Beyond Music

“Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.” Psalm 96:9 (NIV)

“Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.” Psalm 105:2 (NIV)

Do you worship every day? What is worship to you? Does it have to be singing a song only or is it more than that? I absolutely love when it is time to sing at church or when I am in the car listening to Air One. I may not stay on key all the time, but I start singing with all my heart and God loves it any way! That certainly is a comforting thought for me… worship is more than the songs that we sing and the notes, harmonies and beautiful sounds that we make. It is our heart. The attitude of worship, recognizing who God is and being in awe of His amazing glory. That means that we do not only have to sing songs. We can be worshipping God with each breath that we take, through prayer, by being in awe of His power when we see a stunning sunset, we can have the heart of worship through out our entire day. A few nights ago I was reading about the creation. I have read this story many times, but this time I read deeper and thought about how detailed everything that He created is. A moment of awe, worshipping His amazing power. Like I said I love singing to Him, I am just not the most confident person when I sing because I can hear when I am off tune. But thankfully it is so much more than that. As long as I am not focusing on the way I think I should sound and judging my voice to the person next to me then my voice is completely beautiful to the One who I am singing to. His glory is all around us! We can sing, pray or be still and worship Him.
