Purses, handbags, wallets and even diaper bags are items that moms find themselves carrying around on a regular basis. When you pick out your purse or any of the other similar items I just mentioned you are probably looking for a few things. Of course you want it to be practical and have features you like such as zipper, snap, buttons or any combination. But, a big reason is obviously if we like it or not… do we think its cute, stylish and so on. Did you ever think that when picking out one of these items you would have to consider if it is toxic or not? I never thought about whether my purse was toxic until now. The purses, handbags, wallets and even diaper bags that we carry on a daily basis are now beginning to be tested for traces of lead. Lead! Isn’t that only supposed to be an issue with paint? That’s what I thought. But no, now we have to be concerned about the everyday item we have on our shoulders! I have written a post about this issue for Green Oklahoma, Toxic Purses. Check it out, you might be surprised!

The idea of “going green” is a big task and a little overwhelming. But, it is something that I am passionate about. One thing in particular that I am passionate about is helping people realize that the most simple changes made make a big difference in the long run. You don’t have to drive an expensive eco-friendly car or have a new expensive house built that is more eco-friendly to help the environment. While those things make a difference they are not the only way. Taking the transition one step at a time and starting off with the things that we do immediately make just as much a difference for our own health and the Earth. For example, washing clothes in cold water cycles reduces the amount of energy we use and still gets the clothes clean, plus saving money on our bills. There are tons of simple and easy things that we can do take make a difference without turning our lives upside down over night… its one step at a time. I have written an article as a guest blogger for
“The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you!”
“Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion.”
