Time for another item to be crossed off that 30 before 30 list! Number 8, Start/get involved with a ministry to teach people to transition to a green life. When I wrote this particular goal I wasn’t exactly sure what it looked like or how I wanted to do this. The longer I thought about it I really just wanted to find a way to help people to see how easy it is to make small changes that are better for ourselves and our environment, we don’t have to make big changes to make a lasting difference. With that in mind a while ago I joined Green Oklahoma as a contributing writer. I decided that this was a great way for me to get the word out, share what I know as well as gain knowledge from other people who know more. If you haven’t checked out the site you should give it a look. Now this makes for the third item crossed off my list… which item will be next?
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)
Last week a few of my friends and I went to a ladies night at church. It was such a great evening! One of the points that I loved and has stuck with me was intentional parenting. My husband and I have said many times that we want to raise strong Christian children and that’s what we try to do daily with our son. The thing about intentional parenting that really stood out to me was the daily aspect, the speaker talked about finding Jesus in the everyday moments and taking those opportunities to teach our children. We don’t have to wait until Sunday morning during their Bible lessons for our children to be taught about God’s word. No child is to young or to old to start. All it takes is a simple moment where we pray, read the Bible together or talk about the beautiful day God created to start the curiosity in our child to continue asking more questions about God. If we find a way to daily teach our children about God then it won’t be by chance that we raise a strong Christian child, it will be because we were intentional!
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
The worship song I picked for today by Gungor is You Have Me and not only is the song absolutely beautiful but so is the meaning behind it. Life can be a bumpy road sometimes but God never leaves us, He is always there holding onto us. I love the chorus how it talks about God is always faithful and good, we can always count on Him!
You Have Me by Gungor
[verse:]
Out on the farthest edge
There in the silence you were there
My faith was torn to shreds
My heart out of balance
And you were there
[chorus:]
Always faithful
Always good
You still
Have me
You still have my heart
[verse:]
I thought I had seen the end everything broken
But you were there
I’ve wandered at Heaven’s gate
I’ve made my bed in Hell
But you were there still
[chorus]
You have me
You have me
You have my heart completely (6x)
Well I have another item on my 30 before 30 list to cross off!! What is it? Oh just number22…. find my favorite brand of all natural make up. I am super excited about this because I tossed my make up in July after finding out how toxic most make up is in the stores. I attempted a brand that I was not to happy with but I can officially say that I have

found the brand, well actually two. Everyday Minerals and Honeybee Gardens are my two favorite brands! I have two because first off they are amazing but also they each carry certain items the other does not offer so they are complimentary to each other. They are both safe, all natural, nontoxic and Everyday Minerals is also vegan. I order all my makeup except mascara from Everyday Minerals and I ordered mascara and nail polish from Honeybee Gardens. The nail polish is great and you don’t even have to buy nail polish remover to take it off, all you need is rubbing alcohol! I thought that was pretty cool since that is in most peoples medicine cabinets. With all that said I have been extremely pleased with my purchases from these companies, they are amazing quality and the same prices you would pay in the store for typical brands like Cover Girl. If your in the market to try new make up you should consider these brands, I love them! One more thing crossed off my list… which one to cross off next?

Every parent knows when I say that the life of a toddler is busy. Once my son started walking he is constantly on the go exploring everything. I love it, but I won’t lie it is also exhausting and every mom will agree. As soon as his eyes open in the morning he is ready to start the fun-filled day, in fact there are many mornings when I go into his room and he has already begun his daily adventures by throwing his socks or his Grover out of the crib. There are even some mornings when I go in there and he starts to play peek-a-boo right away or the other times when I walk in and the first thing I hear is “more” (which for him that means he is ready for breakfast). The life of a toddler is never boring and that also means that the mommy of that toddler also has a life that is never boring. Every day is filled with new adventures and new and wonderful memories!
So with that said, today on my thankful Thursday I am thankful for those cuddle bug moments! Eli is so busy playing and having adventures that when he comes over to me and crawls up in my lap for hugs I will take every minute of that cuddle bug moment and soak it up. I love that time when he is curled up in my lap sucking his thumb and just holding me, it melts my heart and makes me thankful that little boys love their mommies! What are you thankful for this Thursday?
