Archives For for us all

Lately God has been working on me to become more generous. I always thought that I was generous but what I came to realize is that I was not, at least not how God would have me to be. See, I was more than happy to be generous when it was on my terms and in my comfort zone. I believed that this was normal and an okay way to be generous because let’s face it, no one likes to be out of their comfort zone so therefore many people stay there and don’t branch out. One of the sermons I heard at church right around Christmas really hit home for me and made me realize that I had the wrong idea about generosity. The sermon was about how whatever you keep is all that you will have, but whatever you give, God will multiply. This was not just about giving financially, nor was it about giving only to the church. It was about giving of your time, resources, and giving of whatever God calls of you. The guest preacher who spoke talked about how everything he has was God’s, he would give any and all away if that was what God called him to do. He also made it very clear that he was not about giving so that you can get. That is not what it is about, we give because that is what God calls us to do, we give so that God can bless others with our gift. When you give, God also blesses you in return. The most joyful people I know are the ones who truly give how God intended, God is blessing them for their generous heart! After hearing this it made me realize that I was giving with the wrong mindset. I was only giving what I thought I could give and not what God wanted me to give. Its a hard realization to come to, its never easy to realize an area that you have struggled with, especially if you didn’t even know about it. Since then I have completed a reading plan on youversion about generosity. The verses are to inspire us to give based on the way God has so graciously given. I pray that everyday God opens doors for me to be generous beyond my comfort zone!

“One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:24-25 (NIV)

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” 2 Corinthians 6:9 (NIV)

True Love by Phil Wickham

Come close listen to the story
about a love more faithful than the morning
The Father gave his only Son just to save us

The earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt the Fathers broken heart
tears were filling heaven’s eyes
The day that true love died, the day that true love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn’t move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that true love died, The day that true love died

I absolutely love this song! Every time I hear this song it brings me to tears. The very beginning when he says to “come close listen to the story” makes me realize what an amazing love story Christ has for us! God sent His only Son to die for us, how powerful a love He has for us! Our relationship with Him is truly a love story. Close your eyes and really listen to the lyrics of this song and what a worship experience it will be realizing the love story we have!

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (NIV)

“My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I whom you have delivered.” Psalm 71:23 (NIV)

His Amazing Love

February 21, 2011 — Leave a comment

When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?

Psalm 8:3-4 (NIV)

Today I just wanted to take a moment and really grasp how important we are to God. I love these verses because for me it really puts it in perspective just how much He loves us. How incredibly amazing it is to think about the fact that the One who created the stars, strategically placed them in our sky created us! What makes me even more awe struck is knowing that not only were we perfectly created by Him, He takes care of each of us too! The day to day happenings of my life are so important to Him that He watches over me and cares for my every need. The part that is so incredible is that He doesn’t have to love us and care about our lives and yet He does! Wow! What a truly amazing love He has for us!

What is this thing Raising Inspiration?

Raising Inspiration is a place for Christian moms to come and be inspired, challenged, encouraged spiritually. Motherhood is hard work, no one ever said it was easy, but no matter what it is one of the most rewarding tasks before us. As a mom our lives can be full of laughter, tears, organization, chaos, spit-up, diapers and a pile of laundry. It can be difficult to find a moment alone to spend with our Father who has given us this beautiful life. God has placed it on my heart to start this blog so that Christian moms can come together and not only be inspired and encourage but also spend some time with Him all while forming a community. Each of our lives are different, our families and children are all unique to us but one thing is common for us all and that is Christ and the need we have to spend time with Him!

A True Understanding of Love

This November I became a mom for the first time. What a joyful day that was! The moment I saw my son and felt the overwhelming and unconditional love for him something clicked inside me. I love my son with all my heart, there is nothing I would not do for him and there is nothing he could ever do that would change my love for him, and this is how God loves me and yet even more! I am a child of the almighty God and he loves me as his child! I have always known God loved me but the extent of that love was almost not as real to me until I became a parent myself. There is nothing that I can ever do that will change God’s love for me nor is there anything that I can do that will make him stop loving me. We are his children. That will not change just as your son or daughter will always be your children. When you look into the face of your child today and feel how much you love them think about how God is doing the same thing today when he looks at you! Your Father loves you unconditionally!

You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.” 1 Thessalonians 5:5 (NIV)

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” 1 John 3:1 (NIV)
