Archives For glory

“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” Genesis 1:31a (NIV)

While searching for a song for todays post my husband suggested this band. I hadn’t heard them before but really enjoyed them once I listened to a few songs. This song talks about the “beautiful things” God has made. I love in the chorus when it talks about God making beautiful things from the dust. It really is amazing to think about God being able to make us from dust! The chorus goes on to talk about the beautiful things He makes out of us. Our God is truly incredible, we will never completely comprehend His power. But, one thing we can do is look at all of the beauty in His creation and worship Him!

Beautiful Things by Gungor

All this pain
I wonder if I’ll ever find my way
I wonder if my life could really change at all
All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found
Could a garden come up from this ground at all

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

All around
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found in You

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

You make me new, You are making me new
You make me new, You are making me new
You are making me new

The last couple of days have been a little busy, which is why I haven’t had the chance to make a new post. My husband works for Lifechurch.tv and it was the annual family reunion where all the staff and spouses come together to fellowship and worship God, it was great! So glad I was able to be there. If you have followed some of the latest posts a continuing theme that has started in my family is the calling God has placed on our lives to be debt free. This is an overwhelming and in a way scary thing because we really don’t know exactly how that looks for us. How He is going to make it happen. But, I know that it will. Between last weekend at church and then this week at the family reunion there are two key points that have been placed on my heart. The first is that God is in control no matter what! The second is that we dream to small! God can do far more than we could ever dream! Chase and I dream to be debt free, not only that but we dream to do this in five years. We have no idea how that will happen, but He does because His dreams are far bigger than ours! We sang this song last weekend at church after a long conversation Chase and I had about our finances. I could not get past the first verse before breaking into tears! It truly said what was on my heart. The first video is how the song was written and the second is the full song.

God I look to You by Jenn Johnson

God I look to You, I wont be overwhelmed
Give me vision to see things like You do
God I look to You, Youre where my help comes from
Give me wisdom; You know just what to do

I will love You Lord my strength
I will love You Lord my shield
I will love You Lord my rock forever
All my days I will love You God

Hallelujah our God reigns
Hallelujah our God reigns
Hallelujah our God reigns forever
All my days Hallelujah

“Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” Psalm 100:2 (NIV)

Has anyone heard of this band? I actually had never heard of them until today. I was going through some videos looking for a worship song for today’s post when I came across this band. I really enjoyed their sound. The song is simple and full of joy, and inspiring us to give God the praise that He deserves! Hope you enjoy!

Melody of Salvation by Benjamin Dunn and Friends

Strike the strings on my heart
And I sing your melodies
A hymn of love, songs of blood
Spilling from my mouth
All of my praises, whoa, belong to you

Whoa, whoa, whoa, oh

Pluck my heart like a harp
And sing salvation’s song
Your praises fill the air I breath
With the sweetest melodies
And all of my praises belong to you

Beautiful Worship

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Psalm 19:1 (NIV)

“I see Your face in every sunrise. The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes. The world awakens in the light of the day, I look up to the sky and say, You’re beautiful” Phil Wickham, You’re Beautiful

The beauty of God is all around us. We can easily worship Him just by seeing the beauty of what He has created. Continually being aware of God and all that He does is one way I try to make my worship something more than what I do only at church. There are plenty days though when I go about my day involved in my normal routine and sadly I do not take the minute to realize His presence or even the beauty of what He has created. Where I live it has been a long hot and dry summer with few rain showers far between the other. This week has been amazing! It has been in the 80s or lower all week. I absolutely love it! I find myself with the windows open, taking Eli out on the porch to swing and just simply taking in the beauty of this weather that God has blessed us with. I fell that this glimpse of the fall weather that is around the corner (which by the way is my absolute favorite season) has made me more aware of God’s beauty and presence in all He created. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like the heat and so I did not enjoy being outside much when it was as hot as it has been. I know that I must remind myself to find the beauty even on those hot summer days, it’s just easier to realize it on these cool days. Even though I may complain and forget when it is so hot out, God gives us these days as a reminder. Fall is not here yet. We will probably have a few more hot days before we officially reach fall. But, I am going to let this week stay fresh in my mind to remind me to find the beauty even on those hot days and worship God, the One that created it all!

“Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.” Psalm 47:6 (NIV)

Last night at the women’s event at church we sang this song. All day today it has been stuck in my head. God is everything we will ever need… He is everything when we feel like we won’t measure up. But, the truth is that in His arms we will always have enough! Praise God!

Forever Reign by Hillsong Live

You are good, You are good
When there’s nothing good in me
You are love, You are love
On display for all to see
You are light, You are light
When the darkness closes in
You are hope, You are hope
You have covered all my sin

You are peace, You are peace
When my fear is crippling
You are true, You are true
Even in my wandering
You are joy, You are joy
You’re the reason that I sing
You are life, You are life,
In You death has lost it’s sting

Oh, I’m running to your arms,
I’m running to arms
The riches of your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

You are more, You are more
Than my words will ever say
You are Lord, You are Lord
All creation will proclaim
You are here, You are here
In your presence I’m made whole
You are God, You are God
Of all else I’m letting go

Oh, I’m running to your arms
I’m running to arms
The riches of your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

My heart will sing
no other name
Jesus, Jesus

Oh, I’m running to your arms
I’m running to arms
The riches of your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign
