Archives For god love

“Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.” Psalm 96:9 (NIV)

“Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.” Psalm 105:2 (NIV)

Do you worship every day? What is worship to you? Does it have to be singing a song only or is it more than that? I absolutely love when it is time to sing at church or when I am in the car listening to Air One. I may not stay on key all the time, but I start singing with all my heart and God loves it any way! That certainly is a comforting thought for me… worship is more than the songs that we sing and the notes, harmonies and beautiful sounds that we make. It is our heart. The attitude of worship, recognizing who God is and being in awe of His amazing glory. That means that we do not only have to sing songs. We can be worshipping God with each breath that we take, through prayer, by being in awe of His power when we see a stunning sunset, we can have the heart of worship through out our entire day. A few nights ago I was reading about the creation. I have read this story many times, but this time I read deeper and thought about how detailed everything that He created is. A moment of awe, worshipping His amazing power. Like I said I love singing to Him, I am just not the most confident person when I sing because I can hear when I am off tune. But thankfully it is so much more than that. As long as I am not focusing on the way I think I should sound and judging my voice to the person next to me then my voice is completely beautiful to the One who I am singing to. His glory is all around us! We can sing, pray or be still and worship Him.

Prayer Requests

June 9, 2011 — Leave a comment

“but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer.” Psalm 66:19 (NIV)

“Grow flowers of gratitude in the soil of prayer.” Terri Guillemets

We all have a million things on our plates and that seems to never change. Our prayer lives are constantly filled with new requests. A prayer gets answered and then something else pops up to add to our list. Thankfully our God loves to hear from us and wants us to give him our concerns. He actually wants to hear me ramble on about what is on my mind. Amazing! I can be rather long-winded sometimes, if there is something that is really bugging me I can talk about it for a while and the wonderful thing is, He will listen to every word! I am still trying my best not to make my prayer time a constant list. I want my time with God to be more than the list, I am striving to make my time with Him filled with praise and worship to Him as well. It is definitely something that I am having to be conscious of when praying because it is very easy to get on auto pilot and go back to what I was used to doing and have always done. It really is an amazing change now that I have started to do this though. When I spend my time praising Him after sharing my concerns with Him I have found that to be truly peaceful, the concerns I just shared with Him are not on my mind anymore. It’s awesome how He does that! Please feel free to share your prayer requests with me, there are many things that are on my prayer list but I thought that I would share a few with you:

Both my dad and brother-in-law are in need of jobs.

My husbands grandma had a fall and is now trying to take it easy and reduce stress.

My sister-in-law will be induced a week from today and we are all ready to meet that sweet little boy!

What is this thing Raising Inspiration?

Raising Inspiration is a place for Christian moms to come and be inspired, challenged, encouraged spiritually. Motherhood is hard work, no one ever said it was easy, but no matter what it is one of the most rewarding tasks before us. As a mom our lives can be full of laughter, tears, organization, chaos, spit-up, diapers and a pile of laundry. It can be difficult to find a moment alone to spend with our Father who has given us this beautiful life. God has placed it on my heart to start this blog so that Christian moms can come together and not only be inspired and encourage but also spend some time with Him all while forming a community. Each of our lives are different, our families and children are all unique to us but one thing is common for us all and that is Christ and the need we have to spend time with Him!

A True Understanding of Love

This November I became a mom for the first time. What a joyful day that was! The moment I saw my son and felt the overwhelming and unconditional love for him something clicked inside me. I love my son with all my heart, there is nothing I would not do for him and there is nothing he could ever do that would change my love for him, and this is how God loves me and yet even more! I am a child of the almighty God and he loves me as his child! I have always known God loved me but the extent of that love was almost not as real to me until I became a parent myself. There is nothing that I can ever do that will change God’s love for me nor is there anything that I can do that will make him stop loving me. We are his children. That will not change just as your son or daughter will always be your children. When you look into the face of your child today and feel how much you love them think about how God is doing the same thing today when he looks at you! Your Father loves you unconditionally!

You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.” 1 Thessalonians 5:5 (NIV)

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” 1 John 3:1 (NIV)
