Archives For is

I have so many wonderful memories of my childhood… vacations, church camp, sportting events and the like. Those are cherrished memories that I have and now as as mom I love knowing that each day is an opportunity for me to make those memories with my family. What memories are you making today?

“Memory… is the diary that we all carry about with us.”  Oscar Wilde, “The Importance of Being Earnest”

“We do not remember days; we remember moments.” Cesare Pavese, The Burning Brand

“God gave us memories that we might have roses in December.”  J.M. Barrie, Courage, 1922

“Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.”  The Wonder Years (TV Show, 1988)

“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). Matthew 1:23 (NIV)

Since it is December I have decided to use Christmas music for our Friday worship songs. The song I found for today is by Hillsong and its great. Hope you enjoy!

Born is the King (It’s Christmas) by Hillsong

Born unto us this day a Savior
Gifted from heaven to a manger
The hope of the world
A light for all mankind
All of the earth rejoice
It’s Christmas time

So lift up your voice and sing out His praise
It’s Christmas
Born is the King, rejoice in the day
It’s Christmas
Make a joyful sound
It’s Christmas
Let His praise resound
It’s Christmas

Goodwill to all the earth
And peace divine
All of the earth rejoice
It’s Christmas time
It’s Christmas time

So lift up your voice and sing out His praise
It’s Christmas
Born is the King, rejoice in the day
It’s Christmas
Make a joyful sound
It’s Christmas
Let His praise resound
It’s Christmas

So lift up your voice and sing out His praise
It’s Christmas
Born is the King, rejoice in the day
It’s Christmas
Make a joyful sound
It’s Christmas
Let His praise resound
It’s Christmas

So lift up your voice and sing out His praise
It’s Christmas
Born is the King, rejoice in the day
It’s Christmas
Make a joyful sound
It’s Christmas
Let His praise resound
It’s Christmas

“Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” Psalm 36:5 (NIV)

Today as I began looking for a song for today’s post I came across this video. This is not the first time I have seen this video. I have seen it several times, I love this song! Here’s the thing, as you know normally I post the lyrics too for those who want to read them. Well, I can’t find the lyrics anywhere. I laughed and told my husband “I guess the song doesn’t exist.” haha. Regardless of having the lyrics to post I decided that the song was just to good not to use. It has such a great meaning and its a song that you will probably find yourself humming later in the day. “There is a love, there is a love, and the love breaks through from above.”

He is Faithful

“Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided— Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!” Great is Thy Faithfulness by Thomas O. Chisolm and William Runyan

“Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” Psalm 36:5 (NIV)

I grew up in a church that sang the old hymns each Sunday. I haven’t had a hymn stuck in my head in a long time. Usually I have a song from Air1 playing in my head. This morning however I woke up with an old hymn on my mind, “Great is Thy Faithfulness.” Last night I got a text from a friend saying that they closed the deal to sell their house. They have been trying for a while to sell their home and the day finally came! God is so faithful! No matter the circumstance, whether we feel its big or small He never fails, He is always faithful! The chorus in the song says, “All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—” This was a great reminder for me, there has never been a need that He has not met. For some reason I still allow myself to get worried or stressed about things but eventually I am always reminded of the truth that God is always faithful to meet my needs!

The last couple of days have been a little busy, which is why I haven’t had the chance to make a new post. My husband works for Lifechurch.tv and it was the annual family reunion where all the staff and spouses come together to fellowship and worship God, it was great! So glad I was able to be there. If you have followed some of the latest posts a continuing theme that has started in my family is the calling God has placed on our lives to be debt free. This is an overwhelming and in a way scary thing because we really don’t know exactly how that looks for us. How He is going to make it happen. But, I know that it will. Between last weekend at church and then this week at the family reunion there are two key points that have been placed on my heart. The first is that God is in control no matter what! The second is that we dream to small! God can do far more than we could ever dream! Chase and I dream to be debt free, not only that but we dream to do this in five years. We have no idea how that will happen, but He does because His dreams are far bigger than ours! We sang this song last weekend at church after a long conversation Chase and I had about our finances. I could not get past the first verse before breaking into tears! It truly said what was on my heart. The first video is how the song was written and the second is the full song.

God I look to You by Jenn Johnson

God I look to You, I wont be overwhelmed
Give me vision to see things like You do
God I look to You, Youre where my help comes from
Give me wisdom; You know just what to do

I will love You Lord my strength
I will love You Lord my shield
I will love You Lord my rock forever
All my days I will love You God

Hallelujah our God reigns
Hallelujah our God reigns
Hallelujah our God reigns forever
All my days Hallelujah
