Archives For never

With Mother’s Day tomorrow I think about my sweet little boy and the joy that he brings to our family. Mommy’s work is a constant… changing diapers, washing diapers (we use cloth), making meals, laundry, hugs when he needs it most, story time and the list could go on, but I wouldn’t change it for anything! Not every day is perfect, in fact some days it feels like nothing goes right and Eli woke up in a mood, but again it changes nothing. I love every minute of being a mommy. Right now at his young age he doesn’t realize what Mother’s Day is, and that is okay because I know that he loves me! So with all that said I want to give my little one a blessing for his future. I pray that in all my efforts, in every day mommy work I encourage and inspire him to be creative, be filled with passion, to seek God’s word daily and sprint towards God’s plans for his life.

With Mother’s Day approaching and everyone around us reflects on the work of moms what do you hope your children learn from your life? What blessing do you have for them?

I wish all the moms out there a Happy Mother’s Day!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

The worship song I picked for today by Gungor is You Have Me and not only is the song absolutely beautiful but so is the meaning behind it. Life can be a bumpy road sometimes but God never leaves us, He is always there holding onto us. I love the chorus how it talks about God is always faithful and good, we can always count on Him!

You Have Me by Gungor

[verse:]
Out on the farthest edge
There in the silence you were there
My faith was torn to shreds
My heart out of balance
And you were there

[chorus:]
Always faithful
Always good
You still
Have me
You still have my heart

[verse:]
I thought I had seen the end everything broken
But you were there
I’ve wandered at Heaven’s gate
I’ve made my bed in Hell
But you were there still

[chorus]

You have me
You have me
You have my heart completely (6x)

Top 10: Favorite Food

February 13, 2012 — Leave a comment
I heard so many stories of children who were either picky eaters or never wanted to eat their vegetables. I am so thankful that my little one not only loves his veggies but he actually enjoys them more than fruit! Parenting has no road map and every child is different so you never know what kind of eater you will get. Here is my top 10 list of foods that I never thought my child would love but does!
  1. Avocado
  2. Squash
  3. Mushrooms
  4. Almond milk
  5. Cauliflower
  6. Kale
  7. Prune juice
  8. Peas
  9. Broccoli
  10. Bell pepper

I have mentioned a few times about the decision that Chase and I have made to become more strict with our finances and work to be debt free. It’s exciting to think about the result of not being weighed down each month with those bills. But, its intimidating and at the moment frustrating. Currently with birthdays, holidays and what not approaching it feels like there is a need for money, the money that we are trying so hard to really be disciplined with. I see money going but it feels like it’s not coming in. I know that God will provide, I have no doubt of this, I just have to remind myself sometimes. Today I came across a poem for times when we are discouraged and it really hit home with me about this issue. I love when God brings things to our attention just when we need to hear it most!

Never Be Discouraged by Helen Steiner Rice

There is really nothing we need to know or even try to understand.

If we refuse to be discouraged and trust God’s guiding hand.

So take heart and meet each minute with faith in God’s great love,

Aware that every day of life is controlled by God above…

And never dread tomorrow or what the future brings,

Just pray for strength and courage and trust God in all things.

And never grow discouraged be patient

and just wait for “God never comes too early and He never comes too late!”

“Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (MSG)

This is a great song with such a powerful message, not to mention the fact that it sounds beautiful! When our world is shaken one thing is true, we never leave His hands! God will never leave us. No matter what is going on in the world around us we can always hold on the truth that we are in His amazing hands!

Your Hands by JJ Heller
I have unanswered prayers
I have trouble I wish wasn’t there
And I have asked a thousand ways
That you would take my pain away
You would take my pain away

I am trying to understand
How to walk this weary land
Make straight the paths that crooked lie
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine

When my world is shaking, heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave your hands

When you walked upon the earth
You healed the broken, lost and hurt
I know you hate to see me cry
One day you will set all things right
Yeah, one day you will set all things right

When my world is shaking, heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave your hands

Your hands that shaped the world
Are holding me
They hold me still
Your hands that shaped the world
Are holding me
They hold me still

When my world is shaking, heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave you
When my world is shaking, heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave
I never leave your hands
